Created to Celebrate: Why Fun Is Good for Your Health and Well-Being
Life can be busy, stressful, and filled with responsibilities. In the middle of everything that needs our attention, it's easy to forget something that is actually good for us: fun.
This month we'll look at simple ways to add more joy, laughter, creativity, celebration, and play to our lives. Far from being frivolous, these experiences can help reduce stress, strengthen relationships, improve emotional well-being, and remind us to live more fully in the present moment.

From a faith perspective, fun isn't an accident. God created us with the ability to laugh, celebrate, create memories, and enjoy the people and world around us. My hope is that this series will encourage you to make a little more room for joy—and perhaps discover that taking care of yourself can be both meaningful and enjoyable.
One review of multiple studies found that laughter significantly reduced cortisol, one of the body's primary stress hormones. In some studies, even a single laughter session produced measurable benefits.
Translation for normal humans:
Fun isn't an escape from stress. It's one of the ways we recover from it.
Many Christians have absorbed the idea that being spiritual means being serious all the time. But when you look at Scripture, that's not really what you see. Stay tuned to the series to see more about this idea.

Here are some ways to help incorporate fun into your life:
· Have a game night – include board games
· Play mini golf with your family
· Try bowling
· Put a jigsaw puzzle out on a table and invite people who walk by to help put it together
· Go Geocaching with friends and family
On a personal note – every suggestion listed will not work for everyone. I am probably the worst bowler in the history of the sport. Every single time I roll a ball, it goes unerringly into the gutter. Sadly, this is not an exaggeration! So for me, bowling is not on my fun list. But if you enjoy it, go for it!
