Reflect, Release, Renew: Using December to Prepare for Your Best Year Yet
So often we get caught up in the mad dash from Halloween to Thanksgiving to Christmas and to New Year, that those months pass by in a blur. Maybe it's time to change that.
Let's use December as a time to reflect (on where we've been), release (things that are holding us back), and renew (looking forward to the year ahead and the possibilities it holds).
Reflect: Look Back With Kindness
This month, take time to reflect back with kindness, not criticism. Ask yourself: What is one thing you're proud of yourself for this year? Not one thing you've done perfectly, but just one thing you're proud of. I'll share one of mine: I haven't given up on my weight loss goals. I haven't gotten to where I want to be yet, but I've made progress and I'm still moving forward. Because weight loss, like many things in life, is a journey that we take one step at a time.
Release: Let Go of What No Longer Serves You
What do you need to leave behind as you move into the new year? Old resentments? Limiting beliefs? Habits that haven't been serving you? The act of intentionally releasing these things creates space for something better. You don't have to carry old weight into a new season.
Renew: Look Forward With Hope
Looking back on this past year, where do you see movement? What have you learned? What positive changes have you made? Give yourself credit for them. And start thinking about the coming year. What do you want to create? Who do you want to become? What matters most?
Let's make it a great year — stepping into it feeling physically stronger, emotionally lighter, and spiritually grounded.
