Small Habits, Big Impact: Create, Pause, and Appreciate
4. Create – Make or craft something. This is one of my personal favorites because I’m a big crafter. I love creating beautiful things! I make greeting cards and it gives me a huge sense of satisfaction.
I call crafting my therapy and that’s pretty accurate.
The good news? You don’t have to create something perfect. In fact, I always feel that the flaws in handmade items make them more interesting and meaningful.
Benefits –
• Improves focus
• Boosts creativity
• Creates a sense of accomplishment
• Gives your mind a healthy break

5. Pause – When things get hectic, take a time out and breathe.
If you can, go outside. Somewhere with green plants, natural light, fresh air and water if you happen to be near any.
Tell yourself to slow down.
Focus on your breathing. Quiet your thoughts. Center yourself.
Give your mind and body permission to slow down.
Sometimes a 2–5 minute reset is all it takes to change the direction of your day.
Benefits –
• Lowers stress
• Calms your nervous system
• Improves mental clarity
• Reduces overwhelm
• Helps you respond instead of react

6. Appreciate – Acknowledge your blessings and thank God for them.
Most of us are guilty of taking the good things in our life for granted – and when we do that, we fail to realize the full extent of how much we’ve been blessed.
I try to do this regularly. I thank God for my 2 little dogs…most of the time, for my family, for my friends, for my home.
This simple habit helps me be aware of all the benefits I experience every day and be grateful for them.
Benefits –
• Increases gratitude
• Improves mood
• Lowers stress
• Shifts perspective in difficult moments
• Strengthens faith and emotional resilience
Sometimes small habits create big change. And sometimes we need a little extra support. If that’s where you are, I’d be honored to help.

If stress, sleep issues, or overwhelm have become bigger than “small actions” can solve alone, I’m happy to help. I work with clients both online and in person.
