Small Habits, Big Impact: Encourage, Laugh, and Read
1. Encourage –
Give some kind words to someone else – you’ll both be blessed.
I truly believe that encouragers are one of God’s gifts to the world. A few sincere words at the right time can make a remarkable difference.
And here’s the beautiful thing: encouragement doesn’t just help the other person—it lifts us too.
If you get a chance to cheer someone on in their journey – do it! I think you’ll see what I mean.
Benefits –
• Boosts your mood
• Strengthens relationships
• Creates connection
• Reduces stress
• Gives both people a sense of hope

A few sincere words of encouragement can reduce stress, strengthen relationships, and lift both the giver and receiver. Small kindness creates big impact.
2. Laugh –
Humor is a great anti-stressor.
So often we get caught in the busyness and frantic pace of life that everything becomes very serious and heavy. Lightness disappears.
I’ve found one of the best ways to reduce some of the mental and emotional weight is to look for things that make me laugh.
My go-to? Funny animal videos on YouTube. They never fail to make me smile, chuckle or laugh out loud. And I always feel better afterward.
Benefits –
• Reduces stress hormones
• Boosts mood
• Relaxes the body
• Lightens emotional heaviness
• Helps you regain perspective

3. Read –
An actual book.
I love to read and I’ve pretty much done it nonstop since I learned how. Most of my reading is done on my tablet now. My eyesight has never been great and age certainly hasn’t helped!
On my tablet I can adjust the font size and the lighting, which makes reading much easier. I do miss books, but I’m grateful I can still experience and enjoy reading.
Find a book on a topic you like and sit down with it for a few minutes. You may be surprised by how much you enjoy stepping away from screens, stress and distractions.
Benefits –
• Reduces stress
• Improves focus and concentration
• Stimulates the brain
• Encourages relaxation
• Expands knowledge and perspective
